The Majestic Moose is a secluded, Northwoods retreat surrounded by Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest Land. On private property with mature pines on three sides and a private shoreline on the other, this charming cabin is a world unto itself. This spacious, two-story, three-bedroom timber-framed log home is fronted by a sheltered balcony stretching along the lake-facing side. The balcony looks out over a grassy lawn and flower gardens in the warmer months, with a private gazebo and a private dock. Inside, the vaulted ceilings are supported by exposed log beams, lending this cozy vacation spot a rustic air. The main level features a fully equipped kitchen, a bar with six counter-height stools, a poker table and a cozy living area with a stone fireplace. Large windows and a screen porch offer sweeping views of the lake.
Sleeping Arrangements: The Majestic Moose is equipped with three bedrooms, also warmed by fireplaces, and furnished with two queen-sized beds, two twin-sized beds and two full-sized sleeper sofas.
With private frontage on Moose Lake, this vacation getaway offers a peaceful and productive fishing experience. Moose lake covers 1,559 acres with a maximum depth of 21 feet, and is home to game fish such as musky, bass, pan fish and walleye. This cabin’s private dock, fire pit, gazebo, deck and screen porch make it easy for guests to choose their level of interaction with the great outdoors.
Catch dinner off the dock, or enjoy a glass of wine with a view of the lake from the protection of the air-conditioned but well-windowed upper story. The Majestic Moose has a little something for everyone.
Surrounded by the protected forest and wetlands of the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest, visitors to this cabin won’t lack for untouched wilderness to explore, on foot or on bikes, skis, snowshoes, ATVs, or even by boat. Moose Lake is just one of several excellent fishing and sporting lakes in the larger Hayward area, many of which are connected by narrow channels. Paddlers can also adventure down the Chippewa, Namekagon and White Rivers, where there are known to be brown and brook trout.
Much of the forest is open to the public for hunting, and is always an exciting place for bird watching and viewing other wildlife. Visitors who keep their steps quiet and their eyes peeled may happen upon deer and elk, loons, birds of prey, beaver, otters and even timber wolves or black bear. In Hayward, visitors will have a variety of local taverns and restaurants to choose from. Venture out for golf, go-carts and ice cream, or stay in with the Majestic Moose’s generous selection of provided board games.
