Heaven on Earth is a stunning stained-wood log cabin with picturesque dormer windows and a quaint stone path running up to the house through a carefully landscaped lawn. Set on 40 acres of rolling hills and mature trees, this stately, multistory vacation rental takes full advantage of the beautiful, natural setting with a full-wall of windows on the second story on the lake-facing side. At the side of the house, a large, attached screen porch shelters a picnic table and a free-standing grill, with a floor-to-ceiling view of the outdoors on three sides.
This cabin’s warm, wooden interior gives it a homey feel, while generous square-footage and high vaulted ceilings give guests plenty of room to breathe. On the main level, cozy furniture and a stone fire place share an open floor plan with a formal dining area for six and a corner kitchen with modern appliances and a breakfast bar with counter-height stools. Windows stretch from wall to wall and up to the loft level, filling this open living space with natural light and providing a breathtaking panoramic view of the lake. On the lower level, a large recreation room is equipped with a pool table, a card or game table, and extra seating.
Sleeping Arrangements: Heaven on Earth offers three private bedrooms, furnished with two full-sized beds, one twin-sized be, one set of bunk beds with a twin-sized bed lofted over a full-sized bed, and one pull-out sleeper sofa.
NOTE: Towels are not provided at this property.
Heaven on Earth is located on the shores of the semi-private Christner Lake, which is a shallow, clear lake known for excellent bass fishing. A wooden staircase and boardwalk traverse the slight incline from the lake to the house, and a private pier stretches out over the water, ending in a swimming platform. A two-person yard swing sits on the property between the house and the lake, looking out over the water.
The vast property that comprises this little piece of Heaven on Earth is beautiful, serene, and untouched place to explore, on land or by lake. Along with private lake access this property also features acres forested by tall pines and a natural bog habitat. The home is centrally located near the town of Hayward and just a short drive away from public boat landings on Grindstone Lake, Round Lake, Lac Courte Oreilles and the Chippewa Flowage.
With a combined total of roughly 55,000 acres of open water, the Hayward area is a popular destination for fishing, swimming and water sports, with options available locally for recreation vehicles and outdoor adventure equipment.
The nearby Namekagon River, White River and Big Brook are an exciting opportunity to explore by paddle boat, and are home to brook trout and brown trout. The surrounding countryside is covered by the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest, which is traversed by interlocking systems of gravel roads and trails, and accessible year-round for biking, trail-running, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ATVs.
A generous selection of local restaurants and taverns has grown up alongside the trails and natural water features, enabling visitors to stop along the way for a unique dining experience on the water, often accompanied by live music from a local artist. Hayward is also home to more commercial attractions, such as golf clubs and mini golf, go-cart racing and wedding and large event facilities. Visitors may want plan a trip around the annual Lumberjack World Championships, the American Birkebeiner, or one of numerous other other area races, events or festivals.
