Hinton Bay Hideaway is a multistory, prairie-style log cabin nestled into calm Hinton Bay on the shores of Round Lake. On the main level, a modern kitchen with a small breakfast bar and stools shares space with a large, cozy living room furnished with comfortable lounge furniture, a flat-screen TV and a wood-burning stove. A corner dining area offers seating for six. The whole of this open-floorplan living area looks out over Round Lake via wide picture windows. From a staircase near the kitchen, guests can make their way to a timber beam loft with a wrought-iron guard rail, where a spacious, finished attic space serves as a separate sleeping area. On the lower level, a second lounge area is equipped with a sofa and chairs.

At the front of the house, the door opens onto a covered porch with outdoor lounge seating, while the back opens to an uncovered stone patio with outdoor dining accommodations. A stone path from the house leads down to the water and a private dock with a two-person bench set out over the lake.

Sleeping Arrangements: Two private bedrooms and a lofted sleeping area at Hinton Bay Hideaway are furnished with one king-sized bed, one queen-sized bed, two twin-sized beds, one day bed with a nesting trundle mattress and one futon.

Unique Features

This picturesque rental cabin’s unique situation in Hinton Bay provides a view of the lake from most windows, while it’s privately owned dock and 300 feet of private shoreline offer a serene swimming and fishing experience. Round lake covers 3,294 acres with open water. The deep, clear water is home to pan fish, musky, bass, walleye and northern pike. The property also offers two outdoor fire pits and a large outdoor play area.

Things To Do

The larger Hayward area is a popular tourist and outdoor adventure destination during all season, with 55,000 acres of lakes — including the source of the current world-record holding musky catch — as well as trout streams, wetlands and extensive nature trails through the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest. Visitors to the area may enjoy driving on gravel roads through protected natural habitat in an attempt to glimpse the black bear, bald eagles, timber wolves, elk and whitetail deer that make their home in the region. Visitors can also explore by kayak or canoe, traversing the Namekagon River, the White River, or the Big Brook in the hopes of viewing loons, beaver and those cartoon-like river otters.

Most of the surrounding forest land is open during the various hunting seasons for public use. Many of the lakes are also accessible for water sports, and equipment rentals can be found nearby for water skiing, sailing, tubing, wakeboarding and more. The CAMBA, the North End Trails and the North Country Trails are well-maintained and remain in use year-round for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, fat-tire biking and trail running. A number of renowned races are hosted in the Hayward area, including the American Birkebeiner and the Mr. Borah Epic.

Hayward has plenty to offer in the way of local restaurants and taverns, and often dinner and evenings out are accompanied by live music from local artists. Other attractions include multiple golf courses and clubs, mini golfing, go-cart racing, the Lumberjack Village and the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.

Rates & Specials

$250 - $250 night

$1050 - $1250 week

During peak season — between Memorial Day and Labor Day — this vacation home rents for $1,250 per week. During the off season, rates drop to $1,050 per week. Please contact the manager for information about nightly rates during the off season.

We require a deposit of 1/2 the rent + $79.13 booking fee. The balance + sales tax is due 21 days prior to your arrival. If you reserve within 4 weeks of arrival, we do require payment in full at time of reservation. A security deposit is a hold on your credit card during your stay - If no damage occurs during your stay, we release the hold. Check-in is 4:00 pm and check-out is 9:00 am

No additional charge for children 3 years of age or younger. Additional $25/per night or $175/per week + sales tax for additional guests.
