A great house on a private lake with plenty of extras -- An excellent spot for families. 5/5 Stayed Jul 2018
Richard from Illinois. For starters, the house is beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you could possibly need. There is enough room to spread out, but also plenty of common space upstairs and downstairs for socializing, playing games, or just hanging out. The kitchen is equipped with an array of pots, pans, spices, bowls, etc. -- enough to prepare a gourmet meal, if you choose. You can use the electric stove or cook with the Weber grill on the surprisingly spacious front porch, which comes with two rocking chairs. The deck goes across the entire back of the house. There is a big round table (with umbrella) from which you can have a cup of coffee and admire the view of the private lake and the large, paved, fire pit area (plenty of firewood, too). The back yard is flat so the kids can play games, but it's also punctuated with tall pine trees which do a great job of providing shade and holding up your hammocks. The dock extends far out into the lake, and we fished quite successfully right off the end. Swimming was great. We could easily walk right into the shallow water near shore, or just jump off the end of the dock. And although the water was a little tannin stained, nobody cared. There is a boat house with several fishing poles and a fish cleaning station for your use. It also holds a sauna that was fun for us to try out, even in July. Our rental included a rowboat, paddle board, and kayak for our use which we launched from another smaller dock right near the boat house. The best part of renting this property was the owner. She was extremely responsive, very accommodating, and genuinely cared about our experience as renters. When you put it all together, this place clearly deserves a 5 star rating. I can unequivocally recommend this property. Submitted Jul 29, 2018
