Located on the Chippewa River, Kat’s Cabins are surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, with access points nearby for the Chippewa River Trail and the Old Abe State Trail. Venture out on bikes or on foot to explore an extensive trail system that winds through both town and country. The trails are largely kept separate from high-traffic walkways and motorways to better enjoy a quiet hike or ride. Using the property’s exclusive boat dock, guests to Unit 2 can easily access the water itself as well.
Cruise the Chippewa in a rented pontoon, paddle along in canoes, or bring your own tubes and float the river! When it comes to dining, the area has a few local favorites such as Big Swede’s Tavern and Cookie & Jackie’s Huron Tavern. Other local attractions include the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp Museum, the Leinenkugel’s tour and brewery, and some notable nature reserves: Brunet Island State Park (great for swimming and fishing) and the Big Falls County Park (a fun place to explore, with a waterfall and a number of small islands).
