This nine-person Northern Wisconsin log cabin is beautifully settled to enjoy both lake and forest, on 100 feet of sandy lakeshore on Wisconsin’s pristine Long Lake. The water is clean and clear, with 3,300 acres of prized fishing and boating real estate.
Guests can explore the shores and open waters in pontoons or canoes, or cast a line from the cabin’s private docks and landing. These docks are thoughtfully furnished with Adirondack deck chairs so you can soak up the sun with a great book on balmy days. The boat dock includes a covered boat lift and storage for your personal crafts. Long Lake is recognized as a top walleye fishing lake, so it’s always an eventful day on the water. Long Lake has several restaurants you can boat to for those nights you are not in the mood to cook or when you are looking for ice cream cones on a hot summer day. A quick boat ride to the lakeside gas pump means no hauling gas with you to the lake, fill up on the water and leave the chores at home. The well maintained boat launch is a short 5 minute drive from the log cabin.
The Long Lake area is home to a number of excellent restaurants for nights when the vacation relaxation has settled in too deep to think about cooking dinner. There is also a local ice cream shop nearby that is perfect for an afternoon snacking expedition on warm days.
The Northern Wisconsin towns of Hayward, Spooner, Rice Lake and Shell Lake are all located within 45 minutes of the lodge, providing visitors with hundreds of great restaurants, weekly events and convenience stores. Several of these towns have charming downtown areas populated by quaint shops, and there are multiple scenic courses for golfing, including the Butternut Hills golf course not five minutes from the cabin door. Other attractions and local favorites include the Spooner Train Ride’s Family Pizza Train, the Elegant Dinner Train, the Railroad Memories Museum in Spooner, and the Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum.
If you like to paddle, the Namekagon River is picturesque and easy to navigate. View the works of regional artisans at the Museum of Woodcarving or take in the area’s history at the Washburn County Historical Museum. There are also nature reserves, amusement parks, wildlife areas, a fish hatchery and an organic winery — whatever your interests and passions, hone them at Coco’s Lodge.
