Moose Landing is a charming, six-person cottage on Moose Lake. This lake home escape offers a scenic, shaded yard between the trees and 700 feet of private frontage with a boat launch, a dock — and excellent musky fishing!
The cottage is two stories high with three bedrooms, two baths and a four-season porch with a lake view. The main floor includes a full kitchen with modern appliances and a breakfast bar, a dining table for four, a sitting area with a card table and a stone fireplace.
The master bedroom on the main floor includes a queen-sized bed and an ensuite bath with a walk-in corner shower. The second and third bedrooms are lofted above the family areas with a full-sized bed in one and two twin-sized beds in the other.
The upper-level rooms have unique sloped ceilings and dormer windows with a long view of the wooded property and the water. This homes stone detail work, custom furniture and interior exposed heavy timber framework give it a high-end rustic feel.
It’s the quintessential Northwoods getaway in Hayward, Wisconsin!
Guests to Moose Landing have direct access to 1,559-acre Moose Lake. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 21 feet, and is home to a large population of musky, panfish, walleye and bass. Cabin rentals include a private dock and boat launch, as well as a complementary canoe and paddle boat. Guest are also welcome to bring their own water toys!
Moose Landing is settled in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest, offering a vast expanse of natural habitat where visitors can feel free to explore on both water and land. The forest is traversed by hundreds of miles of nature trails designated for hiking, biking, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and more.
The CAMBA trail system is popular for both competitions and quieter pursuits, such as bird-watching. If you are a quiet traveler, you may even run across some of the more reclusive inhabitants of the protected wildlife areas, such as bald eagles, timber wolves, black bears, whitetail deer, elk, otters, beavers and loons.
If you plan your trip just right, you could find yourself in Hayward for one of its famous races or community events! Popular travel times center around Musky Fest, the Sawyer County Fair, the Lumberjack World Championships, the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival, The Fat Tire Birkie and The Mt. Borah Epic, as well as skiing and paddling events.
