Brickyard Cottage 21 is a three-bedroom cabin in the woods at the far northern edge of Wisconsin. This Bayfield-area cabin rental features a private lot with tall trees that provide shade over the deck and yard, as well as a beautiful, natural and quiet setting.
This eight-person vacation rental on Lake Superior is part of the Brickyard Creek residential community — a collection of privately-owned lakefront cottages connected by a series of nature trails that will lead our guests to the sandy beach area, a picnic shelter and a public marina.
Inside, Brickyard Cottage 21 is spacious and beautifully decorated, with large social rooms on the main floor. The great room is furnished with a plush sectional sofa, an ottoman and a deep armchair. The dining room includes a table with chairs for four, and connects to the modern kitchen, where guests can find all they need to cook and entertain: place settings, cookware, utensils, small appliances, and even a dishwasher.
Sleeping arrangements: Three private bedrooms at Brickyard Cottage 21 are furnished with two king-sized beds and two queen-sized beds.
Parking: Our guests have access to reserved parking space for up to two vehicles. Trailers and recreational vehicles are not permitted in the community parking spots.
The great room at Brickyard cottage has a homey gas-operated fireplace in a stone hearth that gives the whole house a cozy atmosphere. A wide screen porch opens off of the main living room and offers additional dining space, fresh air and a secluded view. There is also an upper-level loft with additional lounge furniture.
Start the day with coffee on the screen porch and enjoy the wooded view and the morning birdsong. Our guests can access nature trails right from the property that lead through the vacation community all the way to the lakeside for boat docking at Roy’s Point Marina, picnics and a sandy swimming area. This public beach also has complimentary fire pits for guest use!
From this side of Lake Superior, you can see across to the Apostle Islands, which are reachable via local day cruises. Brickyard Cottage 21 is also just a few minutes’ drive from the Madeline Island Ferry Line and downtown Bayfield. Bayfield has a picturesque historic downtown full of unique shops and restaurants — we highly recommend stopping by the local candy shop!
The area is also replete with outdoor adventure opportunities, including charter boat fishing trips, sea kayaking, sailing, and other water sports, as well as extensive hiking trails along the lake’s edge that go for miles. These trails offer great photo ops from high vantage points, as well as some unique seasonal experiences, such as edging your way through the ice caves.
