Moore’s Bay Lake Homes in Hayward, Wisconsin, invites you to gather with friends and family to enjoy an adventure in the stunning Northwoods! Our newest vacation home is tucked away on a private, wooded lot, in a protected bay — close to downtown Hayward, Wilderness Lake, and the Chequamegon National Forest! Log Cabin on the Flowage sleeps up to 10 guests.
This picturesque Northwoods cabin home is ideal for small groups vacationing and exploring in Hayward and along the Chippewa Flowage. With four bedrooms and two full baths, a furnished modern kitchen, and beautiful homey living spaces, this cabin on the flowage has everything you need to relax after a day of fishing, boating, snowmobiling, hiking or shopping Up North.
One of our favorite spaces at Log Cabin on the Flowage include our three-season porch — perfect for meals, board games, or as a quiet reading spot. This cabin also includes in-unit laundry, garage parking and a second freezer for your catch-of-the-day. Four private bedrooms are furnished with three queen beds and two sets of bunk beds (three twins, one full bed).
This quiet lake home on Moore’s Bay offers unlimited fishing on the west fork of the 17,000-acre Chippewa River. Your stay includes the use of our private boat dock and a collection of canoes and kayaks to explore the shoreline and the small river islands. A 24-foot Bently fishing pontoon is available for onsite rentals. We also have a sun deck on the water-facing side and a lower-level walk-out patio with a fire pit, lounge chairs, and a picnic table. For rainy days, we provide puzzles, books, games, and a TV with a DVD player.
Log Cabin on the Flowage can be rented together with our sister property across the channel to accommodate larger groups.
Aside from easy access to the Chippewa Flowage — including 200 miles of undeveloped shoreline and more than 150 islands — to explore in kayaks, canoes, jet skis and pontoons, this cabin also offers access to scenic trails and unique local restaurants and attractions.
Bring your snowmobiles or UTVs and ride the groomed trails of the Sawyer County trail system for more than 600 miles through beautiful hills and forestlands. These also connect to the Tuscobia Trail, the Deadhorse Trail, and the nearby Chequamegon National Forest.
Trails are abundant in the area for other year-round activities, such as hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. If you’re not traveling with your own gear, Hayward is home to excellent options for bike shops, equipment rentals and suppliers of all kinds.
The City of Hayward itself has some unique local attractions, including a movie theater, go-karts, mini-golf, specialty shops, and the Fishing Hall of Fame. Before you travel, look into details about seasonal events like the Monday Flea Market or the historic lumberjack shows.

We enjoyed a long weekend snowmobiling with our family at this property. 3 adults and 3 teens. Plenty of parking for our 4 place trailer and right off the trail for easy access. Beautiful, comfortable and impeccably clean 4 bedroom cabin with a fireplace to come back to after a day of riding. Very cozy and pictures are very accurate of property.
A perfect place to get away, everything we needed plus a very responsive and attentive host.
This was the perfect place for our gathering. This place had everything. Jennifer was awesome to work with. Thank you for giving us a great place to be with family
Had an awesome weekend meeting up with family. Great house to stay in, clean and had everything we needed. Owner responded quickly to an issue we had.
Great property with easy access to the mail lake with your boat or the property owners rental pontoon. The photos as shown aren’t doctored, so what you see is what you get, and everything we expected. The entire property was well kept and the owners were great to communicate with.
Very clean property inside and out. The pontoon boat, kayaks and canoes were a big hit with the teenagers in the group. Lake is huge so the GPS on the pontoon was a big help. Small bay is very quiet and the only place we caught any fish! It's a bit of a hike into Hayward but there are lots of resorts nearby for food and treats. Owners are super easy to work with and answered all questions and concerns usually within minutes. Spent a couple of days exploring and would highly recommend a trip up to Madeline Island! Beautiful!
