Lodi, Wisconsin cabins near Devil’s Lake State Park, on Lake Wisconsin offer a great lake vacation in a friendly community between Madison and the Wisconsin Dells. Only 25 miles away from the state capitol, this charming area is ideally located to many things to do and see. Lodi is a recreational paradise with many different types of wetlands, forest lands, lakes, vistas and cliffs. Some are the well-known areas such as Lake Wisconsin, and Devil’s Lake to the lesser known such as Parfrey’s Glen and Pewitt’s Nest.
Lodi is right on Lake Wisconsin. Imagine walking out the cabin door to a terrific 7,000 acre lake that is perfect for fishing, swimming, boating and fishing. Now that’s a memorable cabin getaway. The lake tends to warm faster than most area lakes and has a great fish population. Walleye and Crappie are common. For walleyes the DNR suggest the upper end of the lake. For Crappie, they suggest concentrating on the shallow shoreline areas of the bay. Devil’s Lake is one of the most popular and sought out after lake in Wisconsin. Experience the bluffs, cliffs, large sandy beaches, the different varieties of birds and wildlife. This park has tons of activities such as boating, rowing, swimming, hiking, snowshoeing, biking, and much more. Enjoy the music in the park or one of the other many activities and lessons that they host on a daily basis.
Parfrey’s Glen is an increasing popular inner gorge that rewards us with views of bubbling creek, a small waterfall and great nature views. A lesser known gorge is the beautiful Pewitt’s Nest which is a great companion to Parfrey’s Glen. This gorge has waterfalls and great views too but slightly less smaller but a must see nonetheless. In addition to Lake Wisconsin being steps from your cabin; Lodi has a city pool called the Goeres Pool, plus plenty of parks and even the Ice Age Trail; a 1,000 mile trail perfect for all types of recreation. Another popular attraction is the Merrimac Ferry. This ferry is free and takes your car and company across Lake Wisconsin to get to the other side. You won’t find that in too many towns, especially in Wisconsin.
Your Lake Wisconsin Cabin in Lodi is close to festivals and art markets such as the Celebration of Agriculture Fair, a fair that has been celebrated for over 150 years and counting. Other events such as Suzi the Duck day, Farmer’s Markets, City wide summer garage sales, Wine Walks, Brew B Que (which turns into a block party), and holiday festivals are what gives this town the very charm they are known for. Enjoy many different restaurants on the Lake such as Remi’s Thirsty Moose- which has an outdoor bar and entertainment stage. Other terrific restaurants would include the Lakeside Bar and Grill, a great place for a Friday fish fry in Lodi.
