Luxury lake living at it’s best! High-end amenities inside and outside: Towering wood-beam ceiling leads you up to the reading/work area loft; Beautiful wood floors throughout; Claw tub in the cleanest bathroom you’ve ever been in. Wait until you see the sunroom in person (90% windows), you might spend most of your vacation in this room. The deck furniture is the most comfortable you can find, and the huge gas grill is ready to cook for all your island natives.
This is an island home, so we had to build 2 kitchen islands with stainless steel appliances and plenty of (saddle) seating. The basics are covered: Dishwasher
fridge, microwave, stove.
Sleeping arrangements: 1 King Bed, 5 Queen Bed, 2 Twin Bed, 1 Sofa Bed. 2 bedrooms, loft and game room has 2 sets of built-in bunk beds. You can even sleep inside on a hammock with lake view!
Spend a warm afternoon floating on the lake, dipping your toes, or a fishing line! 2 kayaks and one canoe are available. Guests can use the boat landing, canoes & kayaks, or bring your own boat and dock it a few steps from the private boathouse with rooftop deck. Ask us about pontoon boat rentals too. No matter how you get on the water, just get ready to set the hook on Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye.
Take the bite out of any Up North snowbelt winter chill by warming up in front of the huge wood-burning stone fireplaces. There’s plenty of room to hang & dry all your winter gear.
The game room and bar area is a popular place to take a break from the outdoors: Challenge friends or family to a game of billiards, and remember to bring your favorite beverages for evening entertainment. Take a walk around the island on stone paths, or hit the mainland and find tons of hiking and biking trails.
Visit one of the Northwoods most authentic towns in Vilas County is Presque Isle, just seven miles away- dining, entertainment, and birdwatching options galore! Local birders top pics are: Catherine Wolter Wilderness Area (15 lakes and ponds) and Van Vliet Hemlocks State Natural Area (old growth hemlock forest). Presque Isle is known as Wisconsin's Last Wilderness. These areas also serve cross-country ski and snowmobile enthusiasts. After a full day of fun in the northwoods you might want to cook, so a traditional supper clubs is perfect. Make new friends at the pubs and taverns.
Katinka Lake is one of hundreds of lakes, rivers and streams in northern Wisconsin. Outdoorsman seeking a hunting or fishing trophy for their wall come from all over the country to test their skills.
Things to remember: The only way to get to the Katinka Island getaway is by boat or snowmobile/atv!
