The farmhouse has been in our family for more than 145 years with a rich history of family farming. It is clean,cozy and spacious with 12 ft ceilings, two large inviting porches and a large back yard. Quiet scenic rural location with awesome sunsets!.
The home was originally built in 1863 by Henry Dawes, father of Rufus Dawes who volunteered for the Civil War in Mauston and later commanded Company K of the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry of the Iron Brigade at Gettysburg. One of Rufus' sons was Charles Dawes,the Vice President of the United states in 1926.
Minutes from attractions including; Wisconsin Dells (boat tours, golfing, live entertainment and movie theaters, shopping, hiking, water slides, great food and drink, and much more). Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail, Devil’s Lake State Park, International Crane Foundation, Mid-Continent Railway Museum, The 400 Bike Trail, Castle Rock Lake, Lake Redstone, Necedah Wildlife Sanctuary, Mirror Lake State Park, Circus World Museum.
