Unique Features

716 acre sparkling Lake Shishebogama is uniquely connected to a second lake (Gunlock Lake - Anglers tip: excellent muskie waters). Both lakes offer excellent fishing, boating, and many quiet bays to find solitude - Shishebogama translates to "lake with many bays”. Plan on a pan fish fish fry! Take a short paddle to the state owned island on Lake Shishebogama and explore the hiking trails. Watch for bald eagles, loons, herons, ducks and maybe a beaver.

Things To Do

Cabin time around here includes lots of wildlife, campfires, relaxing on the large deck and screened porch. The variety of fish caught are  Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Muskie, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye. The lakes are full recreation, but jet skis and water skiing are not allowed after 8 p.m.

The Shorview Lake House is just 7 miles from Minocqua where you’ll find the start of the famous Bear Skin Trail for hiking and biking. The Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest offers 4-seasons of fun: Hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, ATVing. Your neighbor to the west is the Chequamegon National Forest! Minocqua, WI offers fine dining, seasonal festivals, a museum, and plenty of opportunities for shopping.

Don’t let the cold weather stop you. Some of the best vacation memories (and photos) are created during winter. This is one of the best places in Wisconsin to snowmobile and cross-country ski. Fall and winter are beautiful and the home is near Winter Park.

A real Beauty! 5/5 Stayed Feb 2017. Christine G.
We return yearly snowmobiling and can't imagine staying anywhere else! Beautiful home, wonderful caretakers, stunning view. The owners keep us updated & if we had any concerns they contacted us immediately! Beyond an A+. Wonderful stay! 5/5 Stayed May 2015
This is our second stay at the Shoreview Lake House and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. The home is comfortable and well supplied. The views are amazing. The wildlife is abundant. We enjoyed watching the Eagle making his daily rounds. We spotted many Loons, a Heron, and muskrats. The fish were plentiful enough to keep the guys out in the pontoon all day. This will be our first choice if we decide to travel to this area again.Winter fun for 3 generations. 5/5 Stayed Dec 2014. Mary M.Madison, WI
Wonderful winter location and accommodations for family gathering of three generations. Snowshoeing, sledding, fort-building and ice fishing were enjoyed on site, with cross country skiing and tubing only minutes away. This lovely home was spacious, with gorgeous views of the lake and fully equipped with all necessities for ages 17 months to 64 years. We hope to make this "Winter Family Get-Away" a yearly event. :) Wonderful Retreat. 5/5 Stayed Aug 2017
We thought this lakehouse was the best we have ever stayed at! It has everything you could possibly need and more! The house is just wonderful and well thought out for guests that may come with more than just their family! As for the scenic views, you can't beat them! My family loved all the docks, the kayak, and the swim out raft! We saw eagles, loons, herons, ducks, and more! What a great Northwoods experience. We had a wonderful week and can't wait until next year! The kids keep talking about the lake and the cool island we took the boat too! Such a great experience! Thanks so much for opening up your home to our family! Beyond our expectations! 5/5 Stayed Sep 2017. AnnReedsburg, WI
Just got back from a week spent on BEAUTIFUL Lake Shish! The pictures on-line don't quite capture the beauty of the home and the view. The house is perched on the edge of the lake offering an incredible panaramic view of the lake, island and all the fall splendor! There was plenty of space for our family of four couples. I highly recommend this vacation home to anyone - large or small group! The two upper level bedrooms are extremely spacious. The kitchen is completely stocked with all of the conveniences of home. If you are not sure about vacationing during the off season, I suggest that you rethink that thought! Each morning we enjoyed coffee while watching the sun light up the brilliant fall trees. The colors are amazing! There is even a faux fireplace on the lower level to help take the chill off after a walk or fishing on those crisp days! Early in the morning the waters were so calm that the blue sky and clouds were perfectly mirrored on the lake surface. There are so many windows in the home to enjoy the view.
