Lost Dutchman Lodge is a three-level, wood-and-glass cabin with a finished basement and a loft. On the main level, a large, fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar with stools shares an open floor plan with a formal dining area with seating for six and a cozy living space with a sectional and a stone fireplace. One full side of this vacation home is constructed with floor-to-ceiling windows, providing a panoramic view of Teal lake and Pine Island and filtering healthy, natural light into the shared spaces.
On the lower level, guests will find additional lounge and recreation space with a second large sectional, a futon and a flat-screen TV. The lower level also has a separate, spacious guest laundry room with open counters for folding. Lost Dutchman Lodge is equipped with four private bedrooms and can easily accommodate up to 16 overnight guests. Four full baths — including a master bath with a Jacuzzi tub — ensure that the whole group can be ready in good time for the day’s adventures. This upscale cabin is set on 13 private acres.
Sleeping Arrangements: Lost Dutchman’s four private bedrooms are furnished with four queen-sized beds, two sets of bunkbeds with twin-sized beds lofted over full-sized beds and a full-sized futon.
NOTE: Towels are not provided at this property.
The property at Lost Dutchman Lodge abuts the 1,024-acre Teal Lake with a shrubby shoreline overpassed by a private dock. The dock extends out over the calm waters of a small, sheltered bay area, and guests are provided with a two-person bench at the end to enjoy the view and the lake breeze.
With a maximum depth of 31 feet, Teal Lake is a popular fishing destination. Guests can expect to find game fish such as large and smallmouth bass, northern pike, pan fish, musky and walleye in its waters. The land surrounding the lake and the cabin is relatively level and lightly wooded with mature birch and pine. Guests are encouraged to explore the area on bikes or on foot.
This secluded vacation property is surrounded by national forest land, with hundreds of miles of scenic driving routes and an elaborate nature trail system that is in use year-round by tourists who flock to the beautiful Northwoods region to enjoy hiking and biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiles and ATVs. The CAMBA trails are home to renowned outdoor competitions and events, such at the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival, the Mt. Borah Epic and the Fat Bike Birkie. The trails are kept well-groomed in all seasons, and rentals can be found nearby for every variety of outdoor adventure equipment.
Local restaurants and taverns can be found near the trail inlets for visitors to break from their explorations and experience the local flavor. There is also a selection of dining venues set right on the lake shores, many of which feature live music from local artists. Public beaches can be found on several of the area lakes, and the Namekagon and St. Croix Rivers are great for canoeing, kayaking and tubing. Lost Dutchman Lodge is located only 20 minutes from downtown Hayward, where visitors will find other tourist attractions such as the Sawyer County Fair, The Sawyer County Historical Society museum or the Lumberjack World Championships.
