Stumpy Bay Getaway is an upscale four-bedroom log cabin located at the edge of beautiful Solberg Lake in Price County, WI. This luxury lodge-style home offers comfortable accommodations for 10 — perfect for large groups or multifamily vacations.
Along with killer views along the Solberg Lake flowage, Stumpy Bay Getaway has a private dock for guest use, complete with bench seating — our favorite place to enjoy a cup of coffee and listen to the Northwoods come alive in the early morning.
Stumpy Bay Getaway was constructed in ‘97, with around 2,600 square feet and lots of homey charm. This home family-friendly home has a fully equipped modern kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave, in addition to a large sitting room, two and a half baths, in-unit laundry and an upstairs game room.
Sleeping arrangements: Four private bedrooms at Stumpy Bay Getaway are furnished with a queen-sized bed in each. The master bedroom enjoys a connected bath. There is also a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the main living room and three additional sofas on the lower level.
There are plenty of exciting extras and fun things to do right on the property at Stumpy Bay Getaway. Our upstairs game room includes table tennis, billiards, electronic darts and a large TV with a DVD player. There is a second, smaller pool table in the basement as well.
Outside, this spacious vacation rental includes an onsite picnic table, a campfire ring with a tripod grill, complimentary firewood, horseshoes and tetherball. And don’t forget the dock — Solberg lake is a great place to fish, with a natural population of walleye, crappie, muske, perch, pumpkinseed, pike and bass.
Stumpy Bay Getaway is conveniently located just across the road from a large block of public recreational land including the Chequamegon National Forest — 800,000 acres teeming with grouse, deer, small game and even bear. The surrounding countryside is also outfitted with 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, nine cross-country ski trails, a number of scenic bike trails, and lots of waterways to explore in kayaks or canoes.
The County Park on Solberg Lake is nearby and offers an excellent beach, a children’s play area, first-come first-served grills and a free public boat landing. Plan an outdoor adventure, or visit the City of Philips, just six miles from the cabin, for shopping, dining and golf. The area is stunningly vibrant in fall with richly colored leaves. On occasion, you can even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
