The Carriage House is one of our favorite Bayfield-area vacation rentals. This two-bedroom home features a modern design with an open layout, vaulted ceilings, tons of natural light, and a distant view of Lake Superior.
The great room at The Carriage House is located on the main level and serves as a central focal point for activities. This main living area includes a cozy sitting room with plush sofas and a large-screen TV, a miniature gas-operated wood stove, a dining room with a family-style table and seating for six, and a fully furnished kitchen with a breakfast bar and three stools.
Sliding glass doors at this Lake Superior Cabin lead off from the dining area and open to a wide deck furnished with a second table and chairs for outdoor dining. The yard is very private with tall trees blocking a direct view of the neighbors. The grassy lot slopes gently to the lake’s edge.
Sleeping arrangements: Two private bedrooms and a single full bath branch off from the great room. One bedroom is equipped with a king-sized bed, and the other has a set of twin-sized bunk beds. The larger of the two living room sofas pulls out into a bed to accommodate a maximum of six overnight guests.
The Carriage House’s unique open layout makes it the perfect place to plan family time away — some can gather around on kitchen stools to chat while others cook, and everybody fits around the dining room table for meals or board games. This homes’ open floor plan, tall ceilings and large windows makes it feel like everyone has plenty of space to stretch out, relax and unwind.
This Bayfield, WI, cabin is ideally located along the lakefront — the perfect position to take advantage of tons of great water-based sports and adventures on Lake Superior. The quiet lot gives your group a private place to dine and relax outdoors with the fresh air and the lovely view, while still keeping the drive into town to a minimum.
The city of Bayfield offers a historic downtown shopping area populated by quaint bookstores and candy shops, as well as other local stores, art galleries, cafes, bakeries, bistros and pubs. You can find local fishing guides or equipment rentals, or enjoy the local event calendar — during the warmer months, take in an outdoor concert at the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua.
Besides great views, successful fishing, and clear water for swimming, Lake Superior is a hub of recreation in the area. Head out on the water for sea kayaking (classes available), sailing, chartered fishing trips, ferry rides or day cruises to the Apostle Islands, or stick to the shoreline for a one-of-a-kind hiking experience and great photo-ops around the ice caves.
