Deer Lake Resort is a 1,300-acre forest retreat located in a quiet, secluded spot in northern Wisconsin. The NO SMOKING resort is open June, July, and August only for reunions, corporate retreats, hunting and fishing trips, and large-group gatherings of all kinds. With nine bedrooms, six full baths, multiple sitting rooms, a cavernous dining room/family room overlooking our private lake, a game room, and an enormous lawn, this Lodge easily handles up to 20 guests. Most places you look at cram you onto sofas and pullouts but we have 21 beds and made a decision to limit group size to 20. We truely can fit your group! With this much space inside plus the decks, lakeside screened porch, and gathering space outside, you will always find a place to hide when you need it. Our rate includes everything - taxes, boats, linens, EVERYTHING!
Family rooms are furnished with comfortable sofas, flat-screen TVs and wood burning fireplaces (4), with most rooms having a picture-window view of the lake.
Most places don't talk about water quality but ours is perfect! Drinking, bathing or washing dishes, you will not see better and we have had quests bottle it to bring home! The kitchen is fully equipped with the necessary dining ware for 20 guests. Included are cookware such as two slow cookers, two counter top frying tables, a steam table, two coffee pots, and a 50 cup coffee maker, and a blender for those slushy drinks! Modern appliances are a commercial gas stove top, convection oven, toaster oven, toaster, two full-sized refrigerators, and a stand-up freezer. Just bring food!
The dining table is designed to hold easily 14 people at a time for meals, with a 12-foot-long main table and bar stools for for another 6. On the lower level, a spacious recreation room houses a ping pong table, foosball and two video game consoles. In addition to six full baths (all remodeled in 2013), there is a seventh outdoor wet deck for rinsing off after a day in the lake.
Sleeping arrangements: Deer Lake Resort can comfortably accommodate up to 20 overnight guests between the home’s nine spacious bedrooms. The configurations include (bed 1) a king-sized bed, (bed 2) a queen-sized bed, (bed 3) a queen bed and a twin bunk, (bed 4) a full bed and a twin bunk, (bed 5) a queen and a twin, (bed 6) a queen bed, (bed 7) two twin beds, (bed 8) two twin beds, (bed 9) a queen bed with twin above and five twin beds with it's own family sitting area and wood burning fireplace. Bedroom 9 is 1,000 square foot bunk room which includes a large private bath and two dressing rooms for privacy.
Our private lake is catch and release to keep the fishing fun. We have stocked Deer Lake many times with Walleye over the last 30 years and boast a variety of others including Northern, black crappie, and panfish. We are also a no motor lake and provide all electric boats. Only hand carried kayaks and canoes are allowed in addition to what we offer.
Deer Lake Resort is situated on nearly two square miles of land wrapping all the way around the resort’s privately-owned 40-acre lake. A mile-long driveway leading to the house ensures that your vacation is quiet and secluded. The 9,000-square-foot home is the only structure for 1.5 miles in any direction and is surrounded by dense forest.
This large-group lodge offers a large yard with a volleyball net and basketball hoop, a gazebo, outdoor grills, a sun deck and an upper-level balcony, all overlooking the private lake and boat dock. The property also includes the use of kayaks, paddle board and canoes, two 14-foot fishing boats with electric motors, three paddle boats, a two-person electric pontoon, and a 6-8 person electric pontoon. If you have a motor boat you want to bring, we have a dock on Birch Lake that you can leave it at all week. Birch is a large "water skiing" and class A musky lake.
Deer Lake Resort is roughly a 45-minute drive from Lake Superior with its boat and equipment rentals, public beaches and other exciting attractions. Guests who are looking for other off property things to do may want to plan a day trip to enjoy hiking or a round of golf at one of several nearby courses.
The surrounding area offers a varied selection of local restaurants, library, playgrounds, casinos, antique shops, gift shops, and underground caves. However, since Deer Lake Resort has more than enough room for you to bring everyone you know (or want to have along), you may want to stick around the private acres and lake, use the complimentary boats and sporting equipment and enjoy the trails, fishing, swimming, bird-watching and wildlife.
We are only a few miles from Winman where you can bike or hike over 20 miles of groomed trails. That is in addition to the trails on our property. You can get there by car or hike/ride through our woods trails to get there. There are also paved trails that start only a few miles away and will take you through Manitowish Waters, Boulder Junction, and close to Presque isle which would be more than I could ever ride! Summer offers the obvious fishing but also hunting, hiking, and biking on wilderness or local paved trails.

Summer is our only season and requires a minimum 7 night rental for 9,700/week plus state and local tax for a total of $10,864. A nonrefundable $2,000.00 deposit is required to reserve the resort.
This rates includes up to our 20 guest MAXIMUM.
An additional $4,000 is due eight months in advance and the balance is due four months prior to your trip. Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
Deer Lake Resort must be reserved by a primary renter who is a minimum of 30 years of age. Please no smoking. Guests will be allowed to check in by 2:00 pm. Check-out is scheduled for 10:00 am.

Surprised! I had no Idea that you could rent a place like this! Great swimming, boating, hiking- just everything outdoors was great. Electric pontoon boats made it easy for Grandma to get in and out of for her favorite past time- fishing. The house has tons of space and a FREE game room that we all enjoyed. We will be returning. Most relaxing getaway! My Family has been here two times for family reunions. It is a great set up for a big group of people. All kinds of room to hang out, very comfortable, cozy and private. The lake is very refreshing to swim in the summer, which is when we come, we like the warm weather. The boats are great just to cruise around the lake and we always catch fish. So many trails to hike, explore and take our 4 wheelers on. I can only imagine what a blast on snowmobiles it would be! It is the perfect place to go for a complete and total get away from your routine. We hate leaving. Have a date for this next summer again!! Can hardly wait!! Nowhere else like it! My family has been lucky enough to stay at Deer Lake for a couple of vacations. There really is nowhere else like it. We always feel a sense of solitude and great fun. The loons calling at the end of the day is a perfect way to enjoy each other and the sunset. We also appreciate the availability of owners, Rob and Terry. A vacation to remember! Deer Lake is a unique location. It is so peaceful and quiet, a great place to destress. The lodge is immaculate and has everything you need to have a home away from home. Fantastic! WOW! The updated design is fantastic. Our family has enjoyed coming here for 25 years. Our children have developed a pure and loving relationship with wildlife and the natural beauty of the unspoiled outdoors. We purchased the property around Deer Lake Resort in 1990. We choose Winchester for our own vacations because of its privacy and the beautiful Northwoods setting, and because it’s not too far from our home residence in Northbrook, Illinois. We began renting the resort on the recommendation of our friends. We are now a Wisconsin state-licensed hotel and are booked a year in advance, with a 95 percent return rate. This is hard to describe- you just need to see it.
