Meadowview I Cottage is the kind of place that quietly becomes your favorite getaway. Tucked into the front corner of our peaceful three-acre property in Ephraim, this two-bedroom cottage has just the right mix of comfort, charm, and privacy. A creek runs gently along the edge of the property, and a border of cypress bushes gives you a natural screen of seclusion—perfect for morning coffee on the picnic bench or a glass of wine at dusk.
Inside, the layout is cozy and easy to settle into. The main living area features a brand-new sectional and a Lazy Boy recliner/lift chair—great for those who appreciate a little extra support or just want to sink in and relax. Whether you’re warming up by the wood stove or enjoying a movie night on the large flat-screen TV, it’s designed for downtime. The kitchen is fully stocked for home-cooked meals, and the adjacent dining area brings everyone together.
With a queen bed in the primary bedroom and two twins in the second room, the space sleeps up to four comfortably. A walk-in shower and wall AC unit add convenience and comfort, while games and a collection of books invite you to unplug and unwind. And with your own private grill and driveway parking just steps from the door, you'll have everything you need for an effortless Door County stay.
One of the most appreciated features of Meadowview I is its thoughtful accessibility. The addition of a recliner/lift chair in 2025 makes it especially senior-friendly, while the single-level layout and walk-in shower are helpful for guests with limited mobility. It’s a great option for families traveling with grandparents—or for anyone who enjoys a little extra ease.
Unlike cottages that are tucked closer to the communal spaces, Meadowview I offers a quieter experience. Set at the far end of the property from the shared fire pit and playground, it's an ideal choice for guests who prefer a more tranquil atmosphere without sacrificing proximity to everything Ephraim has to offer. You’re close enough to wander down and join the fun, but far enough to hear the creek and the breeze in the trees at night.
Design-wise, the blend of laminate flooring in the living areas and plush carpeting in the bedrooms strikes a nice balance between clean and cozy. The furnishings feel fresh and inviting without being fussy, and the natural light that filters in throughout the day makes the entire space feel warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where people return summer after summer—and we always recommend booking early because this one doesn’t stay available for long.
Right outside your door, you’ve got space to stretch out. Grill up some brats, dine al fresco at the picnic table, or take a lazy stroll along the creek with your morning coffee in hand. If you’re traveling with pups, you’ll both enjoy the roomy yard and the laid-back pace of our little corner of Door County. In the evenings, you might hear a guitar strum from the communal fire pit or spot a few fireflies near the edge of the meadow.
Just down the road, downtown Ephraim is packed with charm. Grab a scoop at Wilson’s Ice Cream Parlor (a local favorite for over a century), catch a sunset at Eagle Harbor, or browse the galleries and handmade goods at the Anderson Barn History Center and Fine Line Designs Gallery. There’s also the nearby Peninsula State Park, with its scenic trails, Eagle Tower, and the lovely Nicolet Beach—perfect for hiking, biking, or a lakefront picnic.
For dining out, we love Trixie’s in Ephraim for fresh, seasonal fare, or head over to Sister Bay for a meal with a view at CHOP or Waterfront. Don’t miss a performance at Northern Sky Theater or a visit to the Door County Maritime Museum if you want a dose of culture with your vacation.
Whether you’re here to explore or simply relax, Meadowview I offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of Door County. Reach out to us directly to inquire and skip the fees you’d pay on Airbnb or VRBO. We’re happy to help you plan your stay—just don’t wait too long, this cottage books up fast!

Everything is so nice and clean, the Host and Hostess are absolutely Great. Close to everything.. It's a must stay when in Door County. Ruth Kubiak
Our three night stay at Ephraim Village Cottages was wonderful and restorative. Just prior to our stay my wife and I completed the 1200 mile Ice Age Trail and needed to rest. Not only were the accommodations cozy, cute, and comfortable, but also our hosts were genuinely caring and hospitable. In addition to resting and getting to explore Ephraim and the surrounding towns we got to give a fireside talk about our hike around the fire pit with about 18 other people. I highly recommend Ephraim Village Cottages for your next Door County vacation. Greg Seymour
We spent one week at Ephraim Village Cottages and it was fantastic! Very close to a beautiful beach, quiet and with a lot of fun games and a playground for kids! The owners are very nice and ready to assist for any problem you might have! I strongly recommend it! Cristina Roux
Have been coming to Door County for over 26 years and this is our second stay this year! Will not stay anywhere else this is our new favorite place! Owners Daryl and Ruann are like long time friends you have known since childhood, they really know what Hospitality means and their personalities and Cottages reflect it! It's like your little home away from home and they are spotless! You feel like you've gone back in time to a simpler time where you can relax and enjoy the outdoors, step across the street to the beach, and maybe even meet new friends around the shared fire pit. But there are just enough modern touches including WiFi and televisions should you want that. Oh and did I mention the owners surprised us with a bottle of Door County wine to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary!?? Thoughtfulness like this is rare these days. So whether you rent a larger Cottage to invite your whole family or a quaint romantic getaway for two, you won't be disappointed, highly highly recommend! Ann Johnson

Hi, we’re Daryl and Ruann Larson—your hosts at Ephraim Village Cottages. This is our sixth season welcoming guests to a place that’s deeply personal to us. My grandparents first laid down roots here in Ephraim with the original Larson Cottages, and in the late ’60s, my parents continued that legacy by opening Meadowview Cottages. In 2020, Ruann and I were blessed to bring the family tradition full circle when we became the third generation to care for this special property.
Today, we’ve reimagined it as Ephraim Village Cottages—a peaceful retreat where guests can relax, reconnect, and feel right at home. Ruann brings her heart and talents as a sign language interpreter, and together we’re hands-on in making sure every stay is meaningful. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, gathering by the firepit, or just enjoying the charm of Door County, we want you to feel like part of our extended family. "May your stay be in a peaceful and secure dwelling in an undisturbed place of rest." – Isaiah 32:18.
