Welcome to Sunnyview Cottage, your bright and cheerful home base in Ephraim for a peaceful Door County escape. This cozy one-bedroom retreat is lovingly decorated with a sunflower theme that brings a touch of sunshine to every corner. It’s ideal for couples seeking a quiet, adults-only getaway—whether you're sipping coffee in the light-filled dining nook or winding down by the fireplace after a day of exploring.
The cottage features brand-new luxury vinyl flooring and plush carpeting underfoot, along with a just-updated stove and kitchen table to make mealtimes feel a little more special. The sunken living room is a favorite spot to curl up with a book or movie, with a large flat-screen TV that's perfectly positioned for easy viewing from both the couch and dining area. There’s a wall AC unit for those warmer days, and the full bath is simple and sparkling clean, complete with a tub/shower combo.
In the bedroom, you’ll find a snug double bed tucked against the wall—perfect for cozy nights in. Please note that outlets in the bedroom are pending installation, so plan accordingly. With parking right by the front door and a lovely view of Hidden Spring Road, Sunnyview makes it easy to settle in and feel at home. It’s a favorite for a reason—availability doesn’t last long, so if your dates are open, go ahead and grab them.
One of the most charming aspects of Sunnyview is its personality—you can feel it from the moment you walk through the door. The cheerful sunflower theme, thoughtfully curated decor, and warm, welcoming color palette give the space a lived-in comfort that’s hard to find. It’s not a cookie-cutter rental; it’s the kind of place where you instantly feel like a regular.
The layout is intentionally intimate, with a sunken living room that adds architectural character and a little separation between spaces. Whether you're playing one of the handpicked two-player games from the living room shelf or enjoying the glow of the fireplace, it’s designed to invite relaxation and reconnection. The entire space has been refreshed with attention to detail—from flooring to furniture—making it feel both current and homey.
Another quiet perk? The location. Sunnyview sits closest to the main house and looks out over the peaceful Hidden Spring Road, so you get both privacy and a gentle connection to the rest of the property. Morning walks start right outside your door, and the convenient front-door parking makes coming and going a breeze, especially if you're carrying picnic gear or hiking boots.
Start your day with a slow breakfast in the sunny dining area, then stroll down the road to explore all that Ephraim has to offer. The waterfront is just minutes away—perfect for catching sunrise over Eagle Harbor or grabbing a cone from Wilson’s Ice Cream Parlor, a local legend since 1906. For a laid-back outing, browse the shops and galleries tucked along Highway 42, or rent a kayak and paddle the shoreline.
For hiking lovers, Peninsula State Park is practically your backyard. Walk or bike the Sunset Trail, climb Eagle Tower for a panoramic view of the bay, or take a picnic to Nicolet Beach. On rainy days, you’ll find cozy charm back at Sunnyview with a board game and a hot mug of tea, or maybe a visit to the nearby Hardy Gallery for some local art.
If you're into live performances, check the schedule at Northern Sky Theater or Door Community Auditorium—both offer unforgettable shows in truly unique venues. And when hunger strikes, grab dinner at Trixie’s in Ephraim or Wild Tomato in Fish Creek, just a short drive down the road.
Whether you're here for quiet mornings or busy afternoons, Sunnyview Cottage makes a perfect home base. Be sure to book direct with us to skip the added VRBO and Airbnb fees—and get a few insider tips while you’re at it!

Everything is so nice and clean, the Host and Hostess are absolutely Great. Close to everything.. It's a must stay when in Door County. Ruth Kubiak
Our three night stay at Ephraim Village Cottages was wonderful and restorative. Just prior to our stay my wife and I completed the 1200 mile Ice Age Trail and needed to rest. Not only were the accommodations cozy, cute, and comfortable, but also our hosts were genuinely caring and hospitable. In addition to resting and getting to explore Ephraim and the surrounding towns we got to give a fireside talk about our hike around the fire pit with about 18 other people. I highly recommend Ephraim Village Cottages for your next Door County vacation. Greg Seymour
We spent one week at Ephraim Village Cottages and it was fantastic! Very close to a beautiful beach, quiet and with a lot of fun games and a playground for kids! The owners are very nice and ready to assist for any problem you might have! I strongly recommend it! Cristina Roux

Hi, we’re Daryl and Ruann Larson—your hosts at Ephraim Village Cottages. This is our sixth season welcoming guests to a place that’s deeply personal to us. My grandparents first laid down roots here in Ephraim with the original Larson Cottages, and in the late ’60s, my parents continued that legacy by opening Meadowview Cottages. In 2020, Ruann and I were blessed to bring the family tradition full circle when we became the third generation to care for this special property.
Today, we’ve reimagined it as Ephraim Village Cottages—a peaceful retreat where guests can relax, reconnect, and feel right at home. Ruann brings her heart and talents as a sign language interpreter, and together we’re hands-on in making sure every stay is meaningful. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, gathering by the firepit, or just enjoying the charm of Door County, we want you to feel like part of our extended family. "May your stay be in a peaceful and secure dwelling in an undisturbed place of rest." – Isaiah 32:18.
