Welcome to Deer Haven! On the former site of Kathan Inn & Resort, Deer Haven is under new ownership since 2021 with a beautifully remodeled Northwoods retreat for up to 8 people.
In the morning, enjoy your cup of coffee with a beautiful sunrise from the screen porch. You may even see some local wildlife walking by! Enjoy the beautifully renovated interior and cozy up in the living room and enjoy stunning views of the lake.
Deer Haven has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, a dining area, and a family room/playroom. Plenty of room for everyone!
Located on Kathan Lake and also directly on the intersection of the Sugar Camp and Eagle River snowmobile trails. ATV's can be trailered to parking areas/trails 5 miles from this property.

Fully remodeled in 2022, Deer Haven combines modern comfort with classic lakefront charm. Nestled on the serene shores of Kathan Lake, our cabin offers exclusive access to a shared private beach and lake area—complete with rowboats, paddleboats, a canoe, and two kayaks ready for your next adventure. Life jackets and a convenient fish-cleaning station are provided, so you can spend your days fishing, paddling, or simply soaking in the peaceful beauty of the water.
Because Kathan Lake has no public access, you’ll enjoy a truly quiet and relaxing escape surrounded by nature. And when it’s time to unwind, The Last Cast Bar & Restaurant is just steps away—offering great food, good company, and a perfect way to end your day.

Outside on site enjoy horseshoe pits, volleyball, playground, fishing, hiking, & biking to enjoy in the warmer months. In the winter, enjoy snowmobile access, ice fishing and a beautiful winter wonderland.
ATV's can be trailered to parking areas/trails 5 miles from this property. Hwy H is also an ATV route.
We are just minutes from popular stops: Eagle River, St. Germain, Sugar Camp, Rhinelander, Minocqua, Three Lakes, & Land O’Lakes.
Enjoy rafting/canoeing/tubing on the WIsconsin River and other water activities on the nearby chain of 28 lakes.
During the day you can play a round at a few local golf courses, take some laps on the go-kart tracks, head downtown Eagle River for shopping and a bite to eat. The area has many restaurants, breweries, an award winning winery, a racetrack/speedway, antique/thrift shops, casinos and more.
We also are a fairly short drive north to the UP (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan where you can enjoy even more outdoor fun.

Deer Haven is under new ownership in late 2021. We have worked very hard to create this wonderful space for your stay including a full remodel in early 2022.
