Set your group up for success with large group lakefront lodging near Wisconsin Dells at Adeline’s House of Cool on Lake Puckaway in Montello, Wisconsin. This sprawling, family-owned retreat sleeps up to twelve and was designed so your whole crew can actually spread out, reconnect, and have fun in every season. Inside, six cozy second-floor bedrooms line a private hallway just off the great room, so early sleepers and late-night storytellers both get their space. Each bedroom opens directly onto a screened, wraparound deck with hanging swing benches and adult-sized wooden rocking horses—an irresistible perch for morning coffee, eagle watching, or an after-dinner wind-down while the lake breeze does its thing. A wood-burning fireplace anchors the great room and pairs with an entertainment center for movie nights and game-day gatherings.
The show-stopper is the indoor “Big Dipper,” a 20-foot hot tub with the kind of mood lighting that turns even an ordinary Tuesday into a celebration. Nearby, a playful fireman’s pole connects the dining spaces and becomes the running joke of your trip. The kitchen and a second dining area keep meals easy, and the dedicated game room—outfitted with a pool table, wet bar, pinball machine, antique slot machine, old-fashioned jukebox, a tuned piano, and another wood-burning fireplace—means you can keep the fun going no matter what the Wisconsin weather decides to do.
Outdoors, this is large group lakefront lodging near Wisconsin Dells with true “wow” factor. You’ll gather on one of Wisconsin’s largest wraparound porches, spread out across spacious grounds, light the big lakeside fire pit, and head to the private pier with channel access to Lake Puckaway for boating, paddling, and fishing. There’s ample parking for eight vehicles or a mix of cars and trailers, so bringing gear is simple, and the seasonal umbrella garden and working antique phone booth add a dash of whimsy to the photo ops. Pet-friendly policies make it easy to include your four-legged family members.
Because you’re a short drive from Wisconsin Dells and close to Cascade Mountain, the home works as well for summer lake weeks as it does for ski weekends and shoulder-season escapes. Over the years, guests have used this place for milestone birthdays, multi-family vacations, fishing trips, girls’ weekends, and small celebrations precisely because it combines a lakefront setting with memorable amenities you simply won’t find in typical rentals. When you’re ready to lock in dates, send an inquiry and book direct with the owner to skip travel-site fees and keep more of your budget for the fun stuff.
If you’re seeking large group lakefront lodging near Wisconsin Dells with character, this residence delivers from the moment you arrive. The entry sets the tone with handcrafted touches, including two six-foot urn planters and custom wood seating that invite your group photo before you even step inside. Overhead, a dramatic forty-foot stained-glass awning glows in changing daylight, and matching stained-glass walls frame the front porch. Ten-foot French doors open to an interior that layers textures—wood, stone, glass—so the home feels both playful and grand. It’s a one-of-a-kind first impression your group will talk about for years.
Inside, three massive stone, wood-burning fireplaces anchor different gathering zones, so your group can split between a music-by-the-piano evening, a pool-table tournament in the game room, and a fire-side chat in the great room without ever feeling crowded. The “Big Dipper” 20-foot indoor hot tub—with its party-ready lighting—turns rainy days into spa days and cold nights into cozy after-adventure soak sessions. The screened, wraparound deck—with its hanging swings and oversized rocking horses—functions like a second living room in warm months, giving you shaded, bug-free space for morning yoga, puzzle time, or late-night conversations under a sky full of stars.
Out back, a private pier with channel access to Lake Puckaway makes launching kayaks or casting a line effortless. The large fire pit welcomes nightly s’mores, and the whimsical seasonal umbrella garden and fully working antique telephone booth add an only-here charm that kids and grown-ups love. Practical perks round it out—year-round availability, loads of parking for vehicles and trailers, pet-friendly policies, and easy indoor-outdoor flow—so logistics never get in the way of lake time. The result is a gathering place that combines statement-making design with all the everyday comforts a big group needs
This is large group lakefront lodging near Wisconsin Dells designed for doing. Start right at home base: step onto the pier and ease into a day of boating, kayaking, or fishing on Lake Puckaway; when winter settles in, trade paddles for tip-ups, and enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling, ice boating, or a cross-country ski loop before warming up by the fire or slipping into the indoor hot tub. Because the lakefront is your backyard, sunrise coffee on the deck and golden-hour campfires become daily rituals that bookend your adventures.
A few minutes away, the Grand River Marsh Wildlife Area opens up more than 7,000 acres for hiking, wildlife viewing, and quiet paddles. Birders will appreciate the 200-plus species recorded here, and anglers can explore the adjacent 1,446-acre, roughly seven-foot-deep marsh lake via a public landing. It’s an easy way to give the group a change of scenery without a long drive, and the meadows, water, and sky offer a striking contrast to the wooded shoreline back at the house.
When you’re ready for a day trip, head toward Wisconsin Dells for classic waterparks, attractions, and restaurants, or aim for nearby Cascade Mountain when the snow flies for downhill turns that pair perfectly with the home’s après-ski amenities. For slower-paced exploring, cruise the local Amish communities near Kingston and Dalton to browse beautifully made furniture, quilts, and baked goods, and to get a feel for a way of life that’s still visible in Green Lake County. Back in Montello and neighboring towns, you’ll find golf, small-town supper clubs, and seasonal events that round out the week. In every season, this location gives your crew options—from high-energy outings to simple lake days—so everyone heads home with their version of a perfect Northwoods story.

Adeline’s House of Cool is proudly family-owned and owner-operated by Brian Urbanowski, whose creative touch is everywhere you look. He’s the mind behind the lodge’s whimsical stained-glass features and other custom art pieces, all designed to make gatherings feel playful, memorable, and easy for multi-generation groups. The home began as the family’s own waterfront cabin on Lake Puckaway and evolved into a whole-house retreat that stays true to its original spirit: kid- and pet-friendly, comfortable year-round, and packed with one-of-a-kind details like the signature indoor “Big Dipper” hot tub.
Hospitality here is hands-on and responsive. Guests frequently mention Brian—and caretaker/manager Tom—for going the extra mile before and during stays, and the team’s local roots show up in the property’s community ties through area chambers and visitor groups across Green Lake County. Today the home also goes by “Adeline’s Retreat,” a nod to how many visitors treat it as their private lakeside hideaway; whichever name you use, you’ll be welcomed by people who love sharing this corner of Wisconsin and are easy to reach with questions or special requests.
