The Ranch brings a little Western character to a family cabin stay above the Mississippi River. Our log cabin near Glen Haven welcomes your crew with a ramped entrance and a main-floor bedroom arranged with extra space around a queen bed. It is a thoughtful option for a multigenerational getaway, with details that help you decide whether the layout suits everyone coming along.
Gather in the living room after a day on the river roads, let the kids settle into the play area, and make supper in the full kitchen. The upstairs lofts give other members of the group their own sleeping areas while keeping the cabin's open timber character. A woodstove, air conditioning and dishwasher make it easier to spend your attention on each other rather than the chores.
Outside, the deck looks toward the Mississippi, and the gas grill and firepit invite an unhurried evening together. Add the optional hot tub if a river-view soak belongs on your wish list. Book directly with us to discuss The Ranch's ramp, doorways and room layout before choosing your dates. We want the fit to be right, right down to where everyone hangs their hat.
The Ranch has a ramped entrance, 36-inch doorways and a walk-in shower with a built-in seat. Its downstairs queen bed leaves more maneuvering room for guests using walkers or wheelchairs, and that bedroom also includes a children's play area. These are specific mobility features rather than a promise that every part of the cabin or grounds is accessible; discuss your own needs with us before booking.
Upstairs, one loft has two queen beds and a toddler bed, and the other has a king bed. Those additional sleeping spaces require stairs. Ranch-themed accents, log construction and exposed beams give the cabin its Western flavor without taking away the comforts of a family retreat. Toys, games, a TV/DVD player and 400 DVDs offer indoor entertainment; linens and bath towels are supplied. The deck hot tub is optional at $100 per stay.
Enjoy The Ranch at your own pace: a river-view afternoon on the deck, a family game of cornhole, or playtime at the retreat's shared playground. Our 80 acres also have private hiking trails. Ask us about their terrain when planning for a walker or wheelchair; the cabin's ramp does not establish accessibility throughout the grounds.
Wyalusing State Park offers an accessible fishing pier. Its Sentinel Ridge loop section is described by the park as wide and level, while the route continuing downhill toward the river is steep. Ask park staff to identify the suitable section and current surface conditions for your equipment before setting out.
A drive to Cassville can include Stonefield's agricultural museum and historic village. Contact the site about access to the particular buildings you want to see, and check seasonal opening days. It is a fitting outing for a Ranch stay, with farm life and Wisconsin history at the center of the visit.
For a different river perspective, consider the seasonal Pride of Cassville Ferry between Wisconsin and Iowa. Check current operations and vehicle boarding suitability before making it part of your day, and bring cash for the fare. Back at the cabin, there is no need to keep moving just because the river does.
