Welcome to our spacious lakeside retreat at Sunset Lake! I love that our 2,800 square-foot beach house provides zero booking fees when you book directly with us. Unlike other platforms that tack on extra charges, when you book direct you can start your vacation with savings. The home sits on the tranquil shore of Sunset Lake, a private spring-fed lake, and features 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms - perfect for up to 12 guests.

Inside, you'll find two large living areas and an open-concept kitchen equipped with everything you need. We even have a second wet bar/kitchenette in the walk-out basement. The house is filled with light thanks to our wall of windows facing the lake, and features two electric fireplaces to keep things cozy. High-speed fiber internet and smart TVs with streaming services mean you can stay connected, while our game room with Golden Tee, Ms Pacman/Galaga arcade games, a poker table, indoor putting green, puzzles and books provides plenty of entertainment.

Step outside to your own private sand beach with lounge chairs, a picnic table and hammock. We provide two kayaks and two paddle boards so you can explore the clear waters of Sunset Lake. The wrap-around deck and patio are perfect for grilling on the gas grill, dining outdoors, or gathering around the fire pit. With self-check-in via smart lock, plenty of parking and a peaceful setting just 10 minutes off I-90/94, our home is the ideal base for exploring central Wisconsin.

Unique Features

What sets our beach house apart is the private lakefront experience. Sunset Lake is a spring‑fed, sand‑bottom lake with crystal‑clear water perfect for swimming, fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding. Few properties offer their own sand beach complete with sun loungers, firepit, outdoor dining, and water toys — all reserved just for you. We provide two kayaks, two paddleboards, a hammock and picnic table so you can spend your days on the water or simply relax on shore.

Another thing guests love is the thoughtful extras inside. Along with a fully stocked main kitchen, we added a second kitchen/wet bar downstairs — perfect for snacks on game night. The downstairs game room includes classic arcade games (Golden Tee and Ms Pacman/Galaga) and a poker table with chips, plus an indoor putting green tucked under the stairs. High‑speed fiber internet, smart TVs, books, board games, and a dedicated workspace ensure you can work, play and unwind all under one roof. Our smart‑lock entry and self‑check‑in make arrival hassle‑free, and we provide parking for 8 vehicles.

Things To Do

During your stay you'll have endless activities at your fingertips. Start your morning paddling across Sunset Lake or casting a line into our stocked waters. Spend the afternoon soaking up the sun on the beach or enjoying a friendly cornhole tournament in the yard. In the evening, grill dinner on the deck and roast marshmallows around the fire pit while watching the sunset.

Just minutes away, the much larger Castle Rock Lake and Petenwell Lake offer boating and fishing opportunities, plus two public boat launches. I'm only a short drive from Buckhorn State Park (5 miles) where you can hike through pine forests, kayak along quiet backwaters and snowshoe in winter. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate Woodside Sports Complex (about 15 minutes) with tournaments, softball, soccer and volleyball fields.

If you're looking to explore towns and attractions, we’re only 10 minutes from New Lisbon and Mauston for groceries, restaurants and local shops. Tour local wineries, breweries and supper clubs, tee off at the Castle Rock Golf Course, or take a scenic drive to Necedah National Wildlife Refuge for birdwatching. For a day trip, head 30 miles south to the Wisconsin Dells for waterparks, amusement rides and mini-golf, or visit Roche‑a‑Cri State Park, Mirror Lake or Devil’s Lake for incredible hiking and views.

In winter, bring your snowmobiles or cross‑country skis — central Wisconsin’s trail networks are close by and we have plenty of parking. Whatever the season, our beach house serves as a comfortable home base for adventure.
