Escape to Happy Hours, a classic Northwoods retreat nestled on 2.5 acres of private woodlands along the Wisconsin River. This three-bedroom, two-bath home comfortably accommodates up to eight guests and offers direct access by water to the world-renowned Eagle River Chain of Lakes. Surrounded by towering pines and tranquil waters, Happy Hours is the perfect base for your next northern Wisconsin adventure.
Inside, the cabin’s rustic charm shines through warm wood finishes and thoughtful details. The cozy living room invites you to unwind by the fireplace with your favorite beverage from the built‑in wet bar, while large windows frame peaceful river views. The fully equipped kitchen makes meal preparation a breeze, and the open dining area leads to a spacious deck for al fresco dining. Three private bedrooms – one with a king bed, one with a queen bed and a third with two twin beds – ensure everyone has a comfortable place to rest after a day on the water.
Spend your evenings gathered around the fire pit beneath a starry sky, listening to the gentle flow of the river. Whether you’re here to explore the chain by boat, watch wildlife from your back yard or simply relax in nature, Happy Hours provides a peaceful getaway where you can leave the stresses of daily life behind.
Happy Hours sits on a secluded, wooded lot with 2.5 acres of private land that backs up to the Wisconsin River. This riverfront location allows you to launch kayaks, canoes or small boats directly from the property and navigate into the Eagle River Chain of Lakes – a unique feature that few rentals offer. The sprawling yard provides ample space for games and relaxation, and a private fire pit offers the perfect spot for stories and s’mores under the stars.
Inside, guests appreciate amenities such as a wet bar in the living room, a fully stocked kitchen with modern appliances and an open‑concept dining area that flows onto a large deck. The home is pet‑friendly (with a modest fee), so you’re welcome to bring up to two well‑behaved dogs to share in the fun. With Wi‑Fi, a smart TV, washer/dryer and central heating, Happy Hours combines rustic appeal with modern comfort to ensure a memorable stay in every season.
The Wisconsin River runs right past the backyard, providing endless opportunities for fishing, kayaking, canoeing and boating. Bring your own craft or rent locally and spend the day exploring the interconnected Eagle River Chain of Lakes. Pack a picnic for the boat, drop a line for bass and muskies, or simply enjoy the scenic shoreline as you paddle through quiet bays and channels.
When you’re not on the water, there’s plenty to see and do in Eagle River. Visit the World Snowmobile Headquarters or catch excitement at the Amsoil Eagle River Derby Track, just a short drive from the cabin. Families can enjoy go‑karting at Kartway, mini‑golf, and local parks. Nearby lakes like Catfish, Voyageur and Cranberry offer additional spots for boating and swimming, while the Heart of Vilas County Trail System provides miles of biking and hiking through lush forests.
In winter, the area transforms into a snowy playground with access to hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails and opportunities for cross‑country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing. After a day outdoors, warm up with a local craft brew at Tribute Brewing Company or enjoy hearty Northwoods cuisine at one of Eagle River’s many restaurants. No matter the season, Happy Hours is ideally situated for adventure and relaxation.
Vilas County is also home to charming shops, seasonal festivals and scenic drives. Spend a day browsing downtown Eagle River’s boutiques and markets, take a day trip to nearby St. Germain or Phelps, or simply relax on the deck with a book while deer and eagles pass by. With so many activities nearby, every day at Happy Hours can be as busy or laid‑back as you choose.
