Welcome to Sweet Verna, our lakefront Northwoods home on private Verna Lake. We host families and small groups here because the setting is easy to enjoy right away: floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, a spacious open deck for outdoor meals, and room for up to eight guests with four bedrooms and three full baths.
Inside, we keep the stay comfortable and practical with central air, fiber Wi‑Fi, Smart TV, a fireplace, a full kitchen, dining space for eight, and a roomy two-story layout of about 3,200 square feet. It feels like a true Northwoods retreat, but it still works well for longer stays and multi-generational trips.
Outside is where Sweet Verna really settles in. Guests can fish from the dock, take out the kayaks, canoe, or pedal boat, grill on the deck, and finish the evening around the fire pit. When it is time to head into town, Minocqua is close for shopping, antiques, and restaurants.
One of Sweet Verna’s strongest selling points is the combination of private lake frontage and generous gathering space. The home sits directly on Verna Lake and gives guests lake views, waterfront access, a deck/patio, lawn space, a grill, and included paddle craft, so the property works just as well for relaxed summer afternoons as it does for a week of active outdoor fun.
The sleeping setup also makes the house easy to market to families. Sweet Verna includes one king bed, two queen beds, and two twin beds, plus practical extras like a highchair, washer and dryer, dishwasher, ice maker, linens, towels, parking, and standard safety equipment already in place.
At the property, the draw is simple: fish from the dock, paddle the lake, grill outside, and make campfire time part of the nightly routine. Beyond the home, Vilas County is built for lake days, with more than 1,300 lakes and multiple shore‑fishing options across the county for guests who want to explore farther.
For biking and hiking, guests are close to the Heart of Vilas County trail system. The paved network runs more than 50 miles and connects St. Germain with Sayner, Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters, and Mercer, giving guests a strong option for scenic rides and walks through forest and lake country.
Winter guests have plenty to work with too. The St. Germain Bo‑Boen Snowmobile Club maintains more than 100 miles of trails in the area, and nearby Minocqua adds shopping, dining, and an easy town stop during any season.
