Take the short path through the grassy lawn of this waterfront South Turtle Lake cabin to 800 feet of sandy-bottom lake frontage. A gradually sloped lake bottom creates an ideal swimming area for children. The waterfront deck gives parents a comfortable place to watch younger independent swimmers enjoying summer “in” the lake. THIS HOME HAS 800 plus feet of frontage and 30 acres. THERE ARE NO OTHER OCCUPIED CABINS on the land .
The 2-bedroom/1-bath lakefront Northern Wisconsin cottage is nestled in the privacy of its own 30 acres of woods with no other occupied cabins. Your Winchester area rental includes a 14-foot fishing boat (no motor), canoe, and paddleboat so you can explore/fish South Turtle Lake and beyond. The 40-foot pier with benches is the perfect spot to watch the sunsets on the lake or catch an eagle soaring in the morning.
A year-round rental, you can also picture yourself ice fishing out on the lake, snowmobiling or skiing nearby, and warming up in front of the wood-burning stove. The bathroom and kitchen even have heated tile floors – no cold feet while you make your morning coffee! Plenty of free firewood is on hand for the woodstove and outdoor fire pit. There is a cable-connected TV/DVD/VCR, internet, and WiFI so you can watch your favorite TV shows too.
The open kitchen/dining/living room area has vista views of the lake. There are versatile seating/lounging areas with a queen sofa sleeper and a loveseat, and a dining room table that seats four. The second bedroom has a convertible full size futon. The fully equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, silverware, dishes, glass, and cookware. You’ll love the new hickory cabinets and redesigned kitchen with counter space and a 2-stool breakfast bar.

This Manitowish Waters area cabin is set-up to play in and on the lake. The rental includes the use of a 14-foot fishing boat, canoe, and lounge rafts . You have so many options to get out on the lake to explore and fish the 3-lake Turtle Rock chain. Bring you own boat and launch it at the South Turtle Lake public boat launch and then tie up to your private 40-foot pier. The lake has good angling for Musky, Panfish, Walleye, Largemouth and Smallmouth bass, and Northern Pike.
The cabin property includes 800 feet of shoreline along South Turtle Lake. A sandy lake bottom and grassed/sand shoreline create an inviting swimming area even for younger children. A waterfront deck, benches on the pier, and fire pit all provide inviting areas to gather and absorb the privacy and beauty of the water and 30 acres of forest surrounding you.
It is less than a mile from the pet-friendly Turtle Shore to the silent sport WIN-MAN trails. The network of trails offer multi-season recreational options with hiking (you can bring your leashed dog), mountain biking, snowshoeing and classic- and skate-style cross country skiing. The trail options vary from 4-10 miles in length and are groomed and maintained for winter fat tire biking.
How about an exciting canoe, kayaking, rafting or tubing trip down the nearby Manitowish River? You can book your trip with Hawk’s Nest Canoe Outfitters. Choose your own adventure on the river from 1-5 hours. On your way back to your Wisconsin lake cabin rental, stop in at the historic Little Bohemia Restaurant in Manitowish Waters for a meal at one of gangster John Dillinger’s favorite vacation spots.

We are celebrating our 25th years hosting guests in Winchester. We opened The Rocky Reef Retreat in 1998 and opened the Turtle Shore in 2007. We have many regular and repeat guests with our longest guest visiting 22 years in a row, We pride our selves on offering a well maintained, CLEAN home for you to enjoy. Stephanie also has a home on in Winchester and is available to address to any needs that may arise during your visit. Stephanie personally inspects each home between each turn over to insure guest satisfaction. We have been a member of The Manitowish Waters Chamber of Commerce for around 20 years. We love the community. We have established relationships over the years with many of our regular and repeat guests.
