Our guests say we are clean, quiet, cozy, relaxing and easy on their wallet plus an enjoyable vacation spot in Northern Wisconsin. Our cabin offers seclusion and restful privacy for up to 4 people.
During your stay, you can enjoy nature with plenty to do at the cabin or in the area. Walk (with or without your pet) through the woods on mowed trails, pick berries (in season); sit at our mini picnic table on the back deck and watch wildlife or just listen to the birds. You can gather around the campfire (or inside fireplace) for conversation and stories about your day's activities; look into the sky to see the stars unblemished by the lights of the city.
You can travel to town to see the Wisconsin Record Black Bear, military murals go to the local public beach for swimming or boating or bring your canoe or kayak and head to the river or Augustine Lake about a mile away for a ride.
Unique Features
Just bring your food and beverages - you can sit with a beverage on our deck or by the fire pit. We have a charcoal grill along with charcoal & lighter fluid - just bring your cabin-grilling favorites. Our cabin is close to ATV trails and is on 160 acres of private land with a private road for hiking or biking. Our other 125 acres plus 400 acres of Ashland County land is excellent for hiking or ruffed grouse hunting and is only 3 miles away.
We provide a reasonable amount of FREE firewood (additional firewood can be purchased)) along with materials necessary for starting a fire in the fireplace or fire pit. You just have to kick back and relax!
Many of our guests book return visits to allow themselves to take full advantage of the serenity they cannot get in the hustle and bustle of city life or their daily routine.
Things To Do
Area activities: Copper Falls State Park and Brownstone Falls Park, Pioneer Days in Butternut (last weekend in July), Glidden Fair (Labor Day weekend) has Mud Runs, Horse Pulling Contest, Bingo, Antique (Historical) Museum and beer garden.
There is nearby access to ATV trails; Veterans Memorial Murals; Wisconsin Record Black Bear; Antique Shopping; hiking, biking area lakes for fishing and a great public swimming beach plus a river to canoe or kayak.
We just ask our renters to leave the cabin clean, turn off lights, extinguish camp fire at night or when leaving and take out the garbage. Please notify us if you need an early check-in or later check-out. We will always try to accommodate your needs.
