Welcome to our lakeside retreat! The Wildflower Cabin sits on the tranquil shores of Wood Lake and was thoughtfully designed to help you slow down and reconnect. Inside you'll find two cozy bedrooms with plush bedding, one full bath, and an open living area warmed by natural light and nostalgic décor. Family heirlooms and local art mix with modern comforts, creating a space that feels both timeless and fresh.
The fully equipped kitchen makes meal prep a breeze, whether you're brewing morning coffee or cooking up a Wisconsin fish fry. A screened deck and patio overlook the water – the perfect spot to sip your beverage as loons call across the lake or to gather around the table for games. At night, the living room converts to a sleeping nook thanks to a comfortable sofa bed, and our memory wall invites you to leave a note or puzzle piece to commemorate your stay.
From high‑speed Wi‑Fi and smart TV to air conditioning, central heat, washer and dryer, this cabin has all the modern amenities for a stress‑free getaway. We keep things family‑friendly with a travel crib, books and games, and accessible for grandparents thanks to single‑level living and thoughtful design. Whether you're planning a romantic escape or bringing the whole family, Wildflower Cabin is ready to welcome you home.
A stay at Wildflower Cabin is about making memories. Our favorite feature is the memory wall, where each guest adds a puzzle piece and a note to build a collective story of all who have stayed here. You'll also discover curated décor inspired by the Northwoods and our own family's history, including vintage postcards, floral prints and handcrafted quilts that give the home its cozy, personalized feel.
For those working remotely or streaming movies, the cabin is equipped with 100+ Mbps high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace overlooking the lake. Outside, you'll find private racks for canoes and kayaks and a lakeside fire pit stocked with wood. We provide beach chairs and life vests so you can launch straight from our shoreline and spend your days paddling, swimming or simply basking under a starlit sky.
Step out your door and enjoy Wood Lake. Our private shoreline makes swimming, fishing and paddling easy—grab the canoe or kayak and explore the calm waters, look for bald eagles soaring overhead and listen for the haunting call of loons. In the evening, roast marshmallows at the fire pit while watching a brilliant sunset reflect off the lake.
Just minutes away is the charming village of Grantsburg, where you can pick up supplies, browse local shops and enjoy ice cream at a classic soda fountain. Pack a picnic for Memory Lake Park or Tice Park, both family‑friendly spots with playgrounds, picnic shelters and walking paths. Golfers will love the nine‑hole Grantsburg Golf Course, while history buffs can explore the Grantsburg Area Historical Museum with its restored jail and period homes.
Nature lovers won't want to miss Crex Meadows Wildlife Area, a short drive from the cabin. This 30,000‑acre state wildlife area is famous for its prairies and wetlands, drawing more than 270 species of birds and countless other wildlife. Drive the Auto Tour, hike the trail loops, or join a guided naturalist program to learn about sandhill cranes, trumpeter swans and prairie flowers. The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway and Governor Knowles State Forest offer excellent canoeing, kayaking and hiking trails in all seasons, plus cross‑country skiing and snowmobiling in winter.
Spring and fall are spectacular times to visit, with migrating birds and colorful foliage. In winter, the cabin becomes a cozy base for snowshoeing the Hay Creek trail or ice‑fishing on local lakes. When you return, a hot cup of cocoa and a good book by the window make for a perfect evening. Wildflower Cabin is the ideal home base for year‑round adventures in northwest Wisconsin.
